CRYO FREEZE SKIN IMPERFECTIONS

SO, WHAT IS CRYOFREEZING & HOW DOES IT WORK?

CryoIQ presents an ideal solution for addressing small skin imperfections.

At BUFF LIFESTYLE, we are committed to finding effective treatments for the various skin concerns our clients face on a daily basis. While some issues like live Acne or Rosacea are visibly prominent, there are also smaller, bothersome imperfections that can significantly impact our lives, such as skin tags, warts, and blemishes.

We are excited to introduce the CryoIQ to our range of professional equipment. The CryoIQ represents an advanced cryotherapy innovation, offering a fast, effective, and safe approach to removing small skin imperfections.

Many doctors no longer treat cosmetic procedures like skin tags, milia, and cherry angiomas under the NHS. However, at our Shrewsbury Avenue location, we can now perform these treatments using the CryoIQ

Typically, each procedure lasts between 5 to 30 seconds, allowing you to quickly complete your treatment session. However, it's advisable to allocate around half an hour to account for check-in/out, preparation, and treatment time. During a single session, we can treat up to 5 lesions.

The CryoIQ works by emitting a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure, enabling us to work with millimetre precision. This process freezes the inter-cellular fluid in the damaged tissue, leading to the formation of ice shards and crystals that rupture the cell membrane. Subsequently, the body eliminates the damaged cells, leaving behind healthy tissue. This method ensures remarkable accuracy and practicality, without causing harm to the surrounding healthy tissue.

Treatment Procedure:

To begin the treatment, the applicator is positioned as close as possible to the skin imperfection. Then, a quick movement is made above the affected area while releasing the fine jet of nitrous oxide. The duration of this process can range from 1 to 30 seconds, depending on the size and depth of the imperfection. Typically, a 5-second cycle is sufficient for small, flat imperfections.

For deeper imperfections, a second freeze cycle may be necessary. The second cycle follows the same procedure as the first but lasts for a shorter period.

In the case of slightly larger areas, the treatment can be divided into multiple appointments to clear the area over several sessions. Please inquire about the applicable prices for such circumstances.

During the treatment, you may experience slight discomfort, like the sensation of a nettle sting, as the nitrous oxide reaches the nerve endings at the base of the imperfection being treated.

Post-Treatment and Side Effects:

After the treatment, you may experience a mild stinging sensation, which should subside within approximately 10 minutes. The body's natural defence mechanism may cause the treated area to become slightly raised, like a nettle sting or insect bite, and feel itchy for a short period, due to the release of histamine.

Cryotherapy is a relatively safe treatment method, with a few potential side effects:

  • Pigmentation changes (hypo-pigmentation and hyper-pigmentation): If this occurs, the skin's colour usually returns to normal within a few months. Since the treated area is usually small, any pigmentation changes are less noticeable than the original blemish.

  • Nerve damage: In certain areas where nerves are close to the skin's surface, such as the fingers, wrist, or area behind the ear, there may be temporary nerve damage. Normal sensitivity typically returns within a few months, and given the small, treated area, the impact is minimal.
