Meet Hayley Haynes-Hutchinson, the woman behind Buff Hair & Beauty Lifestyle salon.
With 20 plus years of experience in the Beauty and Wellbeing Industry, I recognised the need for something different. A one-stop day spa that not only represented the needs of professional women and men, but also offered tired, busy parents a sanctuary away from the demands of everyday life, that wouldn’t frown on them if they needed to bring the baby along! From this thought process and desire to create something wonderful, warm and entirely welcoming, came Buff. 16 years later, it is now one of the longest standing salons in Winchmore Hill with a huge and loyal clientele.

I chose my team very carefully, and they chose me too. That’s why so many of them have been with me for me so many years & even return which is wonderful.
What do you put your success down to?
“Passion and commitment. People like consistency. They want their salon to offer them everything, from a skilful team to the best products. I am so passionate about employing the best people and searching for the best treatments and products for our clients; I would never consider anything that I felt compromised that. Our business ethos is ‘to be the best, to offer the best, and for the client to leave feeling their best’. If you steer with that, you can’t go wrong.”
Why move from Wades Hill, just round the corner to Station Road?
“I am always trying to improve and update our offering. I am a great believer in moving with the times and reviewing everything you do and offer each year. It’s so important for clients to feel like they are receiving modern techniques, treatments and products. You can never sit on your laurels in the beauty and wellbeing industry, you have to embrace the new.
I love the site on Station Road and it just felt like an exciting opportunity to update everything. I have spent months and months researching new brands and therapies, and the new salon will be edgy and exciting – everything our clients have come to love about us.”
Pre COVID19, we were mindful of our guest’s lifestyles and how their needs have changed so we adapted to those by opening 7 days each week with 3 mornings from 7am, plus 4 late night openings on Tuesday through to Friday.
These hours have obviously been affected by COVID19, but we have every faith that they will return to normal before too long. We will start by asking the question of our existing guests: what do you need and when do you need us to be here for you?
By opening at 7am this allows our clients the time for a blow dry, manicure or simply free up the weekend and have the general maintenance appointments in hair & beauty too.
We are totally geared up for modern busy lives. I want to make it easy for people, not expect them to fit in around our hours.”
We will be reinstating our client focused loyalty scheme that will recognise everyone’s personal value to our business & rewarding their loyalty to us across the board from the services they choose to the retail they purchase.
Our new website will offer our guests the chance to browse our extensive treatment offering in both areas of the business, keep up to speed with what’s happening in the salon, take a peek at our new promotions, Product of the Week Hair & Beauty Treatment of the Week & Package of the Month.
They will also have the opportunity to browse our wonderful gift idea & voucher options for that special person, but also to keep looking after their own hair & beauty needs from our extensive online shop where you will find all your favourite from the brands we use in salon.
